The Forum for African Women Educationalists Kenya chapter (FAWE Kenya) has called on the government and education stakeholders to urgently address disturbing allegations of sexual misconduct at Alliance Girls High School.

The appeal follows an exposé published in Africa Uncensored Deep Dive newsletter, which detailed accusations against a teacher and Christian Union patron at the institution.

The article featured testimonies from both current and former students describing patterns of inappropriate behavior and abuse.

In a press statement, FAWE expressed deep concern, urging authorities to treat the matter with the seriousness it deserves. “These revelations must not be brushed aside as isolated cases. They highlight a deeper, systemic issue that requires immediate and decisive intervention,” the organization said.

FAWE is calling on the Ministry of Education to dispatch a specialized team to assess the effectiveness of safeguarding protocols across all national schools. The organization stressed that many learning institutions still struggle with enforcing child protection laws.

“The gap between policy and practice remains wide, and this puts students at risk,” the statement added.

FAWE also urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to launch a comprehensive investigation into the allegations and ensure that any implicated staff face disciplinary and legal consequences where necessary.

The organization praised the bravery of survivors who shared their experiences. “We honor their courage these voices underscore the urgent need for safer learning environments for our children.”

In addition to legal and administrative action, FAWE urged the school’s leadership to carry out an internal probe and cooperate fully with any external investigations.

The group reiterated its call for the government to adopt a zero-tolerance stance on sexual abuse within schools and ensure full enforcement of existing child protection frameworks.
