The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced the appointment of sixteen Deputy Directors and nine Principal Claims Management Officers as part of efforts to strengthen its leadership.

It said the new team, brings a wealth of invaluable experience that will be critical in steering the Authority toward achieving its core mandate of providing financial risk protection for Kenyan residents and ensuring access to quality healthcare.

““The newly appointed senior management team brings a wealth of invaluable experience that will be crucial in steering the Social Health Authority toward achieving its core mandate,” Board Chairperson Dr. Abdi Mohamed said.

Among those appointed as Deputy Directors are Valentine Jepkorir Morogo (County Coordination), Daniel Owino Konyango (Legal Services), Caren Awuor Oduor (Finance and Accounts), and Mercy Lustina Angweye (Funds Management).

Others are Dr. Kandie Ng’ooch (Claims Management), Margaret Nyambura Macharia (Benefits Management), Floridah Igoki Mbogori (Registration and Compliance), and Patrick Maina Mwangi (Provider Management).

Jacob Muia Mutinda was named Deputy Director, Corporate Communications, while Geoffrey Kones will serve as Deputy Director, Information Communication Technology.

Other appointees include Lewis Muia Masila (Administration), Mathew Kimeli Chirchir (Human Resource Management and Development), Shafee Yaqub Mohamed (Supply Chain Management), Caxton Gambo Njuga (Internal Audit), Francisca Mwanza (Internal Audit), and Nandwa Mukolwe Erick (Planning and Linkages).

The Board also appointed nine Principal Claims Management Officers to further strengthen the Authority’s claims operations.

They are Dr. George Waihenya, Dr. George Tende Oduma, Dr. Joseph Mboke, Dr. Oliver Tony Mito, Dr. Yussuf M. Abdi, Dr. Scholastic Murunga Wekesa, Dr. Dorcas Kavete Muia, Dr. Josephine Kuria Kuria, and Dr. Omar Sadik.

Mohamed expressed gratitude to the staff for their unwavering dedication and support to the interim senior management team during the transition period.

The appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the Authority to strengthen leadership and operational capacity as it continues implementing reforms in Kenya’s healthcare financing system.
