Nondescripts RFC and Menengai Oilers booked their place in the Kenya Cup Semifinals following convincing wins over Kenya Harlequins and Blak Blad during playoffs on Saturday.

At the Ngong Racecourse grounds, Nondies, buoyed by a large crowd that came out to support the home team beat Harlequins 38-22.

Charles Omondi, Steve Odhiambo, Tony Owuor, and Danny Okito were on the scoresheet for Nondies, all registering tries.

Richel Wangila and Abel Matanda scored tries for Quins whose Flyhalf Farren Juma had an influential clash.

By halftime, the Nondies had a lead of 19-17. Their coach, Callum Oliver, was thrilled to qualify for the last four.

"The boys deserve this win. We have a big match next week (against Kabras). We will prepare," he told the Press following the match.

In the second playoff battle in Nakuru, the Oilers won 31-18 to also book their place in the semi-finals at a wet and slippery Nakuru Refinery Grounds.

Amos Obae, Alvin Khavoli and the brilliant flyhalf Timothy Omela were the try scorers for the home side. David Odhiambo and Dennis Opiyo were the try scorers for the students. Daniel Oyoo scored from the boot for the visitors.

Following the results, Nondies will take on defending champions Kabras RFC while the Oilers will travel to Nairobi to face KCB at the Ruaraka Grounds. The semis will take place next weekend 29 March.

Kabras have won the last three Kenya Cup titles in a row. Nondies are the overall top trophy winners of the Kenya Cup with 17 titles.

Impala RFC have 10, Kenya Harlequins have 8, KCB RFC 8, Kabras 4, Mean Machine 3, Nakuru RFC 2 and Mwamba 1.
