Nyamira man hacks father to death, sets body on fire

The young man expelled his mother and siblings from the house prior to carrying out the deadly attack.
A tragic incident unfolded in Orwaki Village, North Mugirango, Nyamira County, where a young man is accused of fatally attacking his father with an axe and then setting him on fire.
Hellen Kemuma, the mother of 20-year-old Frankline Ouru, revealed that the suspect had a heated argument with his father, 62-year-old Julius Ouru, before violently assaulting him.
It is reported that the young man expelled his mother and siblings from the house prior to carrying out the deadly attack.
Family members and neighbors portray Ouru as a violent person. In February, he was accused of assaulting and causing the fatal injury of the family's eldest son, Douglas Ouru.
Relatives and neighbors paint a grim picture of Ouru, describing him as a man with a history of violence. Back in February, he was implicated in a brutal assault that allegedly led to the death of the family’s eldest son, Douglas Ouru.
The family says they are now living in constant fear, citing ongoing threats and aggressive behavior from the suspect.
Douglas's body was moved to the Ibara Hospital mortuary in Kebirigo, where a post-mortem examination is pending.
In the meantime, the suspect has been taken into custody and is being detained at Ekerenyo Police Station as investigations proceed.
