Nairobi thug nabbed returning to scene with gun in socks

On the morning of May 20, four people had stopped their car after it experienced mechanical problems. While they waited, two men on a motorcycle approached and robbed them of their mobile phones.
Authorities were alerted and arrived at the location as a mechanic was working on the vehicle.
Shortly afterward, the same motorcycle returned, but this time it stopped at a distance and dropped off a passenger.
Unaware that police were present, the passenger walked toward the scene, pretending to be a helper.
However, when officers questioned him, he acted suspiciously by bending toward his right leg.
The police instructed him to surrender and raise his hands, which he did, while his accomplice fled on the motorcycle.
The 19-year-old suspect was arrested following a quick search, during which police discovered a loaded Retay Falcon pistol with three rounds of 9mm ammunition hidden in his right sock. He was taken into custody for further investigation.
In a separate case, police are probing a suspected drowning in Mukeu location, Ngati, Thika, after a man’s body was found floating in the Chania River near the water supply area.
Officers at the scene recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified male trapped under fallen tree branches, indicating it had been in the water for several days.
With help from divers from Kiambu County, the body was recovered and taken to General Kago Mortuary in Thika, where it awaits identification and a postmortem examination.
Police suspect the man was murdered and his body dumped in the river.
