Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has hailed President William Ruto as a divinely appointed leader, chosen to guide the nation.

Speaking on Sunday, June 8, 2025, during a church service at the Church of Christ in Africa (CCA) in Makadara Constituency, Passaris made the statement while accompanying the Head of State.

During the service, Passaris described President William Ruto as a divinely appointed leader, echoing the sentiments of the presiding pastor’s sermon.

Passaris, an ODM legislator, said Ruto's presidency is a divine reality that all Kenyans, especially the youth should accept and support.

"Indeed, leaders are chosen. We must acknowledge and respect that, not just as leaders, but also as young people in this nation," she remarked.

She went on to underline her belief that Ruto’s administration overcame significant hurdles to take shape, pointing to the formation of a broad-based government as a sign of divine favor.

"Ruto is the leader anointed to steer this nation. When someone tries to take away with one hand, God blesses with two. That’s how we got this inclusive government. Nairobi will remain steadfast behind Ruto," Passaris asserted.

Also speaking at the event, Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda criticized opposition politicians who have questioned ongoing empowerment programs led by pro-government leaders.

Mutinda, who is affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), dismissed doubts over the funding of such initiatives, stating that the government remains committed to its mission of economically uplifting women and the youth across the country.

Passaris also affirmed her backing for the broad-based government led by President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga, calling for unity among leaders and citizens alike.

"We continue to pray and urge Kenyans to stand behind the president, his deputy, and Raila. We’re united in pushing the country forward. We are one people, let’s not be swayed by divisive rhetoric shouted from the rooftops," she said.
