President William Ruto has reiterated his dedication to delivering on his mandate, making it clear that opposition criticism will not deter him from his agenda.

Addressing congregants during a Sunday service in Makadara, Nairobi, the President brushed off the rising political backlash, dismissing it as baseless talk.

“I am focused, determined, and unshaken. No amount of insults or threats will derail my mission, I have all the time I need to get the job done,” he said.

Ruto added that resistance is expected when change is underway. “Kenya is on the brink of transformation, and that’s why you’re seeing pushback. But I don’t waste time listening to their noise,” he remarked.

President William Ruto underscored his commitment to driving Kenya’s transformation through his administration’s flagship initiatives, with a strong focus on affordable housing and universal health care.

Speaking at the Sunday service, Ruto said, “It is God who entrusted me with this position and the mission to transform our nation and I intend to fulfill that calling.”

He noted that while initiatives like affordable housing have long been discussed, they’ve seen little progress, something he now feels duty-bound to deliver.

His comments come amid mounting opposition to the housing programme, which has sparked fierce debate.

Critics, including opposition leaders who have vowed to scrap the housing levy if elected in 2027, argue the scheme imposes an unfair burden on salaried workers, who are taxed without assurance of home ownership.

Under the plan, employed Kenyans have been contributing 1.5% of their salaries, matched by employers since 2023.
