Nyandarua nominated MCA Beth Wahito dies in road crash

Reports indicate that Wahito was on her way home after attending a budget committee meeting in Naivasha when the crash occurred around 11:00 p.m.
Beth Wahito, a nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) in Nyandarua, has died following a tragic road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Saturday night.
Reports indicate that Wahito was on her way home after attending a budget committee meeting in Naivasha when the crash occurred around 11:00 p.m.
Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker Stephen Wachira Waiganjo said that the MCA was attempting to cross the road at an intersection when her vehicle was struck by a Guardian Angel bus. She died on the spot.
In a formal statement released later, Speaker Waiganjo mourned Wahito as a bold and compassionate leader who championed the needs of the marginalized.
"She led with courage, strength, and unwavering commitment. Beth never shied away from standing up for what she believed in and worked diligently to improve the lives of those in her community," the statement read in part.
Wahito was a seasoned figure in Nyandarua politics, with a career spanning more than 30 years.
Over the years, she served in various capacities including as a leader in the Democratic Party, Nyandarua County chairperson of NARC-Kenya, and most recently, as the Kinangop coordinator for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Following the accident, her damaged vehicle was moved to Naivasha Police Station as investigations continue
