The woman, identified as Regina Kauli Munyoki, is accused of uploading sexually explicit content involving her three children aged 13, 7, and 4 on a dating site known as “Afro Introductions,” operated by Cupid Media.

Two suspects have been arrested in Mombasa in connection with a disturbing case of online child exploitation.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects a 41-year-old woman and her 52-year-old husband, were allegedly using an online dating platform to market their own children for sexual purposes in exchange for money.

The woman, identified as Regina Kauli Munyoki, is accused of uploading sexually explicit content involving her three children, aged 13, 7, and 4 on a dating site known as “Afro Introductions,” operated by Cupid Media.

Detectives say she used the platform to solicit clients and profit from the exploitation of her children.

Investigations also revealed that her husband, Isaiah Owala Gura, had repeatedly defiled their eldest daughter since she was 11 years old.

DCI officers drawn from the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit, alongside their Changamwe counterparts, acted on intelligence leads to track down and arrest the two suspects.

Regina has since been arraigned in court and released on a bond of Sh1 million with two sureties of the same amount.

Her husband remains in custody at Shimo La Tewa prison, awaiting a bond ruling scheduled for Tuesday, July 15.

The arrests come amid heightened efforts by authorities to clamp down on child exploitation and human trafficking.

The judiciary has also been working to strengthen the legal framework around such crimes.

Last year, Chief Justice Martha Koome launched a judicial bench book on trafficking in persons for sexual exploitation, describing it as one of the gravest violations of human rights.

The book aims to guide judicial officers and justice actors in handling trafficking cases more effectively, while addressing legal gaps and evidentiary challenges.

The case continues to draw national attention, with calls for swift justice and enhanced protection mechanisms for vulnerable children.
