In a notice issued on Tuesday, July 15, the ministry invited submissions over the next 14 days as part of efforts to review charges for accessing national parks, reserves, marine parks, marine reserves, and sanctuaries across the country.
The Ministry of Tourism has called on the public, stakeholders, and interested groups to submit their feedback on proposed changes to park access and conservation fees under the draft Wildlife Conservation and Management (Access and Conservation) (Fees) Regulations, 2025.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, July 15, the ministry invited submissions over the next 14 days as part of efforts to review charges for accessing national parks, reserves, marine parks, marine reserves, and sanctuaries across the country.
The proposed regulations outline the fees payable for access and conservation of Kenya’s protected areas, while an accompanying Regulatory Impact Statement details the expected outcomes and rationale behind the changes.
Kenyans can access the draft regulations on the Ministry’s website at www.tourism.go.ke or through the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) portal at www.kws.go.ke. Printed copies are also available free of charge at all KWS-managed parks, reserves, stations, and sanctuaries nationwide.
To further engage the public, the ministry has scheduled a series of public forums to gather views and clarify the contents of the regulations. Written submissions can be sent via email to [email protected] or hand-delivered to the Ministry of Tourism or KWS headquarters.
According to the ministry, all feedback must be submitted within 14 days of the notice’s publication.
