Ruto’s 2027 victory will be earned through development, not propaganda- CS Ruku

Ruku urged politicians to stop misleading Kenyans and instead recognize the progress made by the Kenya Kwanza administration in under two years
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has dismissed allegations that President William Ruto is planning to rig the 2027 General Election, branding the claims as unfounded and driven by political interests.
Speaking during a Special Programmes outreach tour in Taita Taveta County, CS Ruku urged politicians to stop misleading Kenyans and instead recognize the progress made by the Kenya Kwanza administration in under two years.
“President Ruto will secure a second term based on performance, not manipulation,” Ruku said. “We are not talking about empty promises there are actual projects on the ground transforming lives.”
Among the major infrastructure developments highlighted by the CS are the 70-kilometre Elasit–Njukini–Taveta Road and the 58-kilometre Mtomwagodi–Bare–Idage–Bura Road, which he said are expected to improve accessibility and facilitate trade in the region.
Ruku also pointed to the Affordable Housing Programme, which has seen an injection of Sh2 billion, noting it is helping reduce the housing deficit while creating jobs for the youth.
In the education sector, the government has allocated Sh750 million for the construction of 1,700 hostel units at Taita Taveta University to address accommodation challenges for students.
He further revealed that 58 new classrooms have been built across 68 schools in Mwatate to support the roll-out of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
On energy access, the CS said Sh200 million has been channeled into 15 new rural electrification projects, with an additional Sh60 million earmarked for 10 upcoming initiatives under the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), all aimed at improving electricity coverage in remote areas.
He also cited the near completion of Matunge Market in Mwatate, currently at 90 percent, as part of ongoing efforts to upgrade local trading hubs and boost economic activity.
CS Ruku reiterated that the Kenya Kwanza administration is firmly rooted in grassroots empowerment through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), adding that the results are already visible across the country.
“Our development record speaks for itself,” he said. “That is what will win us the next election does not lie or political noise.”
