The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has officially announced its highly anticipated nationwide recruitment drive for October 2025.
In a notice, the KDF confirmed that it will be recruiting candidates for various positions, including General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (both Regular and Graduate categories), Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen and Women, and Defence Forces Constables.
“The Kenya Defence Force (KDF) is pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of General Service Officer Cadet Regular, General Service Officer Cadet Graduate, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen and Women and Defence Forces Constables. The recruitment will take place in October 2025,” the notice read in part.
This recruitment drive is expected to attract thousands of young Kenyans eager to serve in the military.
The KDF emphasised that the recruitment is completely free of charge and open to all eligible and qualified Kenyan citizens.
The military also issued a strong warning against corruption and bribery, stating that any individuals found engaging in recruitment malpractice will be arrested and prosecuted.
“The Kenya Defence Forces recruitment drive is free and open to all eligible and qualified candidates. Engaging in bribery or any other form of corruption with the intent to influence the recruitment process is a criminal offense. Any individual found to be involved in recruitment-related malpractice will be arrested and prosecuted,” the ministry warned.
The ministry urged members of the public to report cases of malpractices in the recruitment process to the nearest police station,millitary camp or via the KDF hotlines: 0726419706 / 0726419709.

All interested candidates must be Kenyan citizens, holders of valid national identity cards and free of criminal records. They are required to present original documents, alongside four copies of their ID cards, KRA PIN certificates and academic credentials.
Interested candidates must visit the official recruitment portal: https://recruit.mod.go.ke to submit their applications. The deadline for online applications is October 12, 2025.
Shortlisted candidates will be notified via print media between October 21 and October 24. No manual or physical applications will be accepted.
