Wealthy Kenyans are increasingly investing in Dubai, drawn by several key factors.

A recent video has raised eyebrows after capturing a sales review meeting at what appears to be the Dubai headquarters of a prominent real estate firm.

Citizen Digital reports that, in a video, a sales executive from Springfield Properties is called to the front as colleagues applaud his outstanding performance.

According to the executive, his transactions amounted to approximately AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham) 10 million, equivalent to Sh352 million.

"We’d like to recognize Anjal for successfully closing a bulk deal," the master of ceremonies announces.

"Please ring the bell before we proceed with the full details."

"So, how many units did you close?" Anjal is asked.

"I closed six units for ten million dirhams (AED)." he says.

The conversation gets juicer after he reveals that the client who bought all six units was actually from Kenya.

"Where was he from?" the MC asks.

"He's from Kenya!" Anjal replies.

Anjal Singh, a skilled sales executive at Springfield Properties, provides further details on the deals he closed:

"We sold six two-bedroom units with pools in Binghatti, each priced around two million AED, bringing the total to more than ten million AED."

Singh specializes in high-end properties across Dubai, including apartments, villas, townhouses, and plots.

In recognition of his exceptional performance, he was named 'Agent of the Month' for March 2025. Singh, alongside Hassan Bin Khalid, was also acknowledged for securing the most deals in October and November 2020.

The video sparked widespread conversation among Kenyans on X, with many speculating that the 'Kenyan investor' involved might be a member of the political elite.

Several commentators suggested that the millions spent on luxury properties in Dubai could be linked to corruption.

"The blatant theft by our politicians is depriving the future of many young Kenyans, all under the guise of development," Wycliffe Otie commented.

Another user remarked, "A Kenyan just purchased apartments worth KES 350 million in Dubai. I’m sure some county or ministry back home is feeling the pinch."

Jennifer Wanjiku added, "@EACCKenya, you’re focusing on traffic cops while corruption runs rampant. When we finally have competent leadership in 2027, all this stolen wealth must be recovered and redirected into public services."

Sam Nzomo expressed disbelief: "Why invest in property in Dubai if you only visit for a few days a year? Why not invest in Kenya’s industries instead? These criminals don’t even care about the country they’re so eager to lead."

Wealthy Kenyans are increasingly investing in Dubai, drawn by several key factors, including the city's tax-free environment, attractive rental yields, political stability, and the overall security of their investments.

The booming real estate sector, along with the ease of foreign property ownership and the opportunity for UAE residency, also plays a significant role in this trend.

Alice Maigida of Danube Properties highlights that Kenya is becoming an essential market for Dubai’s property sector.

Many affluent Kenyan families are purchasing apartments to accommodate their children studying abroad or to host business partners frequently visiting Dubai.

Maigida notes that most Kenyan buyers are looking for holiday homes or residences for their children attending university.

Others are interested in fully furnished properties as investments, renting them out to fellow Kenyan families visiting Dubai for vacations.
