Through the e-GP system, KAA expects to streamline interactions with suppliers, reduce manual paperwork, minimize delays, and allow all stakeholders to track procurement activities easily online.

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has officially moved all its procurement operations to the government’s Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system, making its Annual Procurement Plan publicly available online for the first time on October 3, 2025.

The transition aligns with the government’s digital transformation agenda and the presidential directive on implementing the e-GP platform across all public entities.

The new system will digitize KAA’s procurement process entirely, enabling a paperless workflow from planning to contract award, and ensuring transparency and efficiency at every step.

Through the e-GP system, KAA expects to streamline interactions with suppliers, reduce manual paperwork, minimize delays, and allow all stakeholders to track procurement activities easily online.

Acting Managing Director Mohamud Gedi hailed the achievement, highlighting the scale of the transition.

“Achieving this was no small feat, considering our operations span 19 directorates and over 147 cost centers. This accomplishment demonstrates our unified dedication to operational excellence across the Authority,” he said.

Gedi added that the adoption of the e-GP system would strengthen internal processes and foster a more accountable and efficient procurement framework.

Board Chairman Caleb Kositany also underscored the benefits of digital procurement, saying, “By adopting the e-GP system and publishing our Annual Procurement Plan digitally, we are embracing innovation to improve efficiency and transparency. This system fosters trust and offers our suppliers a streamlined procurement experience.”

KAA acknowledged the critical role played by its internal procurement teams and the National Treasury facilitators in successfully deploying the system.

Suppliers and service providers are now urged to register and familiarize themselves with the platform, as all future procurement activities with KAA will be conducted exclusively online.

The Authority reiterated that the full adoption of the e-GP system underscores its commitment to government reforms aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and the delivery of quality services to Kenyans.
