President William Ruto has cautioned his political rivals, urging them to prioritize meaningful policy development over what he described as mere rhetoric.

During his visit to Laikipia County in the Mt. Kenya region on April 1, 2025, Ruto dismissed his critics, emphasizing that Kenyans should evaluate leaders based on their track records.

"Anyone who hasn’t worked should be sent home. Even those who are disturbing me with all this noise. I want to tell those of you who are bothering me to do two things," said the President.

"First, if you want to compete with me, go and formulate policies. Tell these citizens what you’ll do about agriculture, roads, electricity, and healthcare. Otherwise, you’ll just be going around in circles, and your issues will amount to nothing.”

Ruto stressed that Kenyan voters are perceptive and can differentiate between leaders who fulfill their promises and those who merely engage in rhetoric.

He explained that only those who deliver tangible results would gain the trust of the people.

“If all you do is move around making noise, your plans will sink. Those people should organize themselves properly and stop unnecessary noise. These citizens are not foolish. They will know who is working and who is just full of empty talk, gossip, and mischief,” he stated.

Ruto reaffirmed that the final say on leadership in 2027 would lie with the electorate, urging all elected officials to prioritize their responsibilities over political disputes.

“It’s you who gave us jobs. Everyone should do their work. In 2027, you will decide who has worked and deserves to continue and who hasn’t and should be sent home,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of service delivery across all levels of leadership, from Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to Governors and MPs, cautioning against unnecessary political wrangles.
