PSC launches extensive internship drive for graduates

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the opening of applications for its Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) for the 2025/2026 financial year.

This initiative aims to equip college graduates with practical experience, essential skills, and networking opportunities to boost their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.

The PSIP is a year-long, non-renewable internship program where successful applicants will be placed in various government ministries, departments, state agencies, corporations, and public universities.

Interns will receive a stipend determined by the government and will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion of the program.

To be considered for an internship position under PSIP, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

-Have graduated in or after 2018.

-Be proficient in computer skills.

Interns will be expected to:

- Complete tasks and assignments mutually agreed upon with their supervisors.

-Document the skills they acquire within their assigned areas.

-Actively participate in mentorship activities and any additional responsibilities designed for the program.

Interested and qualified graduates should submit their applications through the PSC's job portal, accessible via www.publicservice.go.ke or www.psckjobs.go.ke. The deadline for applications is August 18, 2025.

In a separate announcement, the PSC is also inviting applications for 4,000 internship positions within the State Department for Housing and Urban Development. These opportunities are available across 41 different fields for both degree and diploma graduates.

Eligibility for Housing and Urban Development Internships

Candidates for these internships must:

-Possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in one of the specified disciplines from a recognized university.

-Have graduated in or after 2018.

-Be proficient in computer skills.

The application process, duration of the internship, stipend terms, and certificate issuance for these positions are similar to those of the main PSIP.

The deadline for applications for the State Department for Housing and Urban Development internships is August 14, 2025.The PSC encourages eligible graduates to seize these opportunities to kickstart their careers in the public service.
