Mohamed Salah named Premier League Player of the Season

Salah’s stellar performance this term includes 28 goals and 18 assists, topping the league in both categories.
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Season for the second time, following a remarkable 2024–25 campaign.
The 32-year-old Egyptian previously claimed the honour in the 2017–18 season.
Salah’s stellar performance this term includes 28 goals and 18 assists, topping the league in both categories.
He is just two assists shy of the all-time Premier League single-season record of 20, shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
His contributions played a vital role in Liverpool’s title-winning season. He also overtook Sergio Agüero to become the highest-scoring overseas player in Premier League history.
In addition, Salah recently extended his stay at Anfield by signing a new contract that runs until 2027.
Salah beat strong competition to the award, including teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, as well as Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood.
It marks the first time since the 2018–19 season that a Manchester City player has not won the award.
Earlier this month, on May 9, Salah was also named the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year for the third time, receiving over 90% of the vote.
