In Summary

With just two matches left to play this season, Police have amassed 61 points.

It's all rosy and cosy as far as Kenya Police Football Club is concerned.

With a first Kenya Premier League title all but wrapped up pending their remaining two matches, the champagne is already on ice for the men in Blue as they await their potential crowning.

The math could not be any simpler. With just two matches left to play this season, Police have amassed 61 points.

Second place Gor have 55, same as Tusker FC. Gor have a goal difference of +22. Police +20. Tusker +5.

For Gor, a literal miracle must take place. Police must lose both their remaining matches against Shabana and Gor themselves for any opportunity to usurp their rivals for the title.

Gor take on Ulinzi Stars in their other remaining fixture.

Math aside, Police are overly confident that the title is in the bag and their hard work has already paid off.

Head coach Ettiene Ndariyagije says that he is on the brink of celebrations already.

"We are looking forward to lifting the crown next week when we face Shabana, he said. We are going to win against Shabana so we play our last game against them without any pressure," he told Nation Africa.

Police face Shabana on Wednesday, June 11 and then proceed to battle Gor three days later in what they hope will be a dead rubber.

According to the Police coach, though, that's nothing to worry him.

"Gor Mahia are not going to win the league and not even a miracle will save them," Ndariyagije insisted as quoted.

Police will be looking forward to participation in continental competitions next season, as reward for their title win. A place in the 2024/24 CAF Champions League will be on offer.
