Victor Wanyama is in talks to return to his former club Dunfermline Athletic, he has revealed.

Wanyama featured four times for Scottish second-tier side Dunfermline Athletic on a short-term contract last season.

The Kenyan ultimately assisted the club to secure safety from relegation to the third tier, finishing seventh in the ten-team second tier.

Dunfermline are now preparing for the 2025/26 season and have already pulled a move to sign on head coach Neil Lennon for the next two years. Lennon is a former serial winner.

The ambition is to ensure promotion to the Scottish Premier League, which Wanyama believes the club is capable of securing.

"They want me to stay on at the club, and I am thinking about it," Wanyama told Telecomasia News.

"I’ve really enjoyed my short time here. It’s a club with a lot of ambition; they want to push for promotion to the Premiership, and that excites me."

"I'm yet to make a decision, but they’ve laid out their plan for next season, and I will take time to analyse it. It would be great to continue with them," he offered.

Wanyama's experience will be much needed for the Dunfermline squad ahead of a challenging season.

He has featured far and wide for various clubs, such as record Scottish champions Celtic FC, Southampton FC of the English Premier League, Europa League winners Tottenham and Canadian outfit Montreal CF.
