Liverpool defender Trent Alexander Arnold negotiating Real Madrid move

It seems that it is a matter of when and not if Trent Alexander Arnold will become a Real Madrid player, according to reports in the European press.
Alexander Arnold, whose contact at Liverpool runs out at the end of this current season has turned down efforts by Liverpool to extend his stay at a club he supported as a boy, and according to respected Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, the England defender is Madrid bound.
"Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid, closer and closer after story revealed 1 year ago," he said on his X account.
"The official contract proposal from Real has been sent to TAA and his camp. Discussions are underway on the details of the deal; all parties involved are confident to get the agreement done."
According to Sky Sports, Alexander Arnold has refused to sign a new contract and has insisted he wants to leave.
He has been offered a new and improved long term contract by the Premier League leaders but he is keen to have a taste of something different, insiders stated.
26 year old Alexander-Arnold joined Liverpool's academy in 2004 and captained the club across its youth levels.
He made his senior debut in 2016, at age 18, and played in back-to-back UEFA Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter and being named in the Champions League Squad of the Season.
Alexander-Arnold has made 349 Liverpool appearances, scoring 22 goals and providing 87 assists.
