The much anticipated CAF Champions League clash between Mogadishu City Club and Kenya Police FC takes place this afternoon at the Nyayo National Stadium, with both sides looking to take any form of advantage into the return leg a week later on Sunday 28 September 2025.
IMPORTANT MATCH FACTS
- This tie represents the first leg of the first round of the CAF Champions League. The first round has two legs, each played at each team's 'home' stadium.
- Somalia is devoid of a CAF Champions League quality stadium. As a result, Mogadishu CC are 'hosting' the first leg of the tie at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi Kenya. Kenya Police FC will host the return leg at the same venue on Sunday 28 September 2025.
- The winner on aggregate of the two legged tie will proceed to the second round of qualification, where they will battle either Jamus FC from South Sudan, or Al Hilal from Sudan. Whoever wins the second round tie qualifies for the lucrative group stages where each side is guaranteed at least USD 750,000 in prize money.
- If by the end of the second leg clash, the score on aggregate is even, there will be extra time and if possible penalty kicks taken to separate the sides.
- Kick off is at 4 PM East African Time (EAT)
- Tickets are available for purchase at (Langopass.COM). Tickets cost Ksh 300 for the regular seating areas, Ksh 1,000 for VIP, Ksh 3,000 for VVIP, Ksh 10,000 for the Presidential Box.
- Gates will be open from 10 AM. Fans are advised to arrive early for easy entry.
- This is the first time in history that these two sides are meeting in any competition. They qualified for the Champions League by winning the respective Somali and Kenya national leagues.
