Nairobi United FC, the Naibois as their fans prefer, take on Uganda’s NEC FC in a crucial CAF Confederation Cup first round qualifier second leg at the Nyayo National Stadium this Saturday 27 September 2025.
The tie is finely poised; the first leg having ended in a 2-2 draw at the Nakivubo Stadium in Kampala last weekend. Both teams will know that the tie is very much there for the taking, making it a must watch for football lovers.
The math is simple. Any clear win on either side will result in qualification to the second round. A 2-2 draw will mean extra time. A 1-1 draw will see Kenya Police go through on away goals. A 3-3 draw or higher will see NEC United go through on away goals.
The winner of the tie will take on either Al Ahli Wad Madani (Sudan) or Étoile Sportive du Sahel (Tunisia) in the second round. The stakes could not be higher as regards Saturday’s match.
