Belgium women’s rugby coach Warren Abrahams dies during Safari 7s in Nairobi

Belgium women’s rugby sevens head coach Warren Abrahams has died at the age of 43.

The former Wales Women’s head coach passed away on Friday, October 10, while leading the Belgium team during the Safari Sevens tournament in Nairobi.

In a statement released on Sunday, October 12, the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) confirmed his death, describing Abrahams as a dedicated and passionate professional who made a lasting impact on the game.

"The Kenya Rugby Union deeply mourns the untimely demise of Warren Abrahams, Coach of the Belgium Ladies National Sevens Team, who passed away on Friday, 10th October while on tour for the 2025 Safari Sevens in Nairobi," said the statement.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Belgium Rugby fraternity during this difficult time. Warren’s passion, professionalism, and dedication to the game will be fondly remembered by all."
