Kenya Under 17 women arrive in Cameroon ahead of crucial World Cup qualifier

Kenya will as such be forced to win in any way they can and head coach Mildred Cheche says that her ladies are raring to go.
The Kenya Women's Under 17 football team arrived safely in Cameroon ahead of their FIFA Under 17 World Cup qualifier versus Cameroon.
The two sides meet at the Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé Friday evening, with the overall aggregate winner picking up a place at the World Under 17 World Cup to be held in Morocco.
Kick off will be at 9 pm Kenyan time.
The team arrived in the central African nation via Ethiopian Airlines on Wednesday and will take part in a training session at the Stadium today so as to acclimatise to local conditions.
In Nairobi last weekend, Fraiche Tiwa Melong was the hero as her headed goal earned Cameroon Women's Under 17 side a 1-0 win over her Kenyan counterparts at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The Cameroonian took advantage of lax defending to slot home on 25 minutes, and despite a spirited effort from the home side, they held on for victory.
Kenya will as such be forced to win in any way they can and head coach Mildred Cheche says that her ladies are raring to go.
"We understand that it's a tough assignment, but we are ready to make history once more," she told Radio Generation Sport before leaving for Cameroon.
The Women's Under-17 World Cup will take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8.
Kenya will be looking to make a second consecutive appearance at the tournament after also featuring in 2024 in the Dominican Republic.
