Kenya's Under 17 Girls gave out a splendid display at the newly reopened Nyayo National Stadium as they swept aside their Ugandan counterparts 3-0 to proceed to the final round of the 2025 World Cup qualification.

Patience Asiko opened the scoring for the home side, with second half substitute Brenda Achieng adding two more goals to make the aggregate score 5-0 in the Starlets swept home with swagger at a sunny Nyayo Stadium.

Nyayo has been closed since August 2023 when it was closed for renovations and a sizeable crowd greeted the return of football to the venue with solid support to push the home side to a well-deserved victory.

Mildred Cheche's side showed their experience as they dispatched a Ugandan side that did not lack effort but were otherwise outclassed by their neighbours.

Kenya will now face Cameroon in their final qualifying tie to be played on a home-and-away basis with the aggregate winner earning a trip to North Africa.

The next Girls Under 17 World Cup 2025 will be held in Morocco between 17 October and 8 November and Kenya, who qualified for the last edition in the Dominican Republic last year, will be gunning for yet another opportunity to face the world's best.
