Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has raised concern over the mysterious abductions of two individuals, calling for their immediate release and demanding accountability from security agencies.

According to a statement released by the Governor, Abdullahi Bosso was taken by security personnel along the Kinna-Kulamawe Road on Friday, May 9, at around 1 pm under unclear circumstances.

In a separate incident, Ali Godana, the Acting Director of Revenue, was reportedly abducted outside his home the following day at approximately 5 pm by unknown individuals.

"These sudden disappearances and the continued incommunicado detention of both individuals have caused immense anguish and alarm among their families and the wider community," the Governor stated.

Governor Guyo expressed deep concern over what he described as a disturbing pattern of enforced disappearances, which he said pose a serious threat to the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of Kenyan citizens.

"These are not isolated cases. They reflect a troubling pattern of enforced disappearances that undermine the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of Kenyan citizens," he said.

He also criticized what he termed a contradiction between these abductions and the public assurances made by President William Ruto.

"Such actions directly contradict President William Ruto’s public assurance that his administration will neither tolerate nor engage in abductions," he said.

Calling for urgent action, the Governor appealed to the security agencies to release Bosso or present him before a competent court as required by law.

"We strongly appeal to the relevant security agencies to immediately release Abdullahi Bosso or present him before a competent court of law, in accordance with the Constitution of Kenya, which guarantees the right to due process and protection from arbitrary detention," the statement read.

He further demanded to know the whereabouts and condition of Ali Godana, saying that his family and the public deserve to be informed.

"We demand to know his whereabouts and current condition. His family and the public have a right to be informed," Guyo stated.

The Governor urged human rights organizations, oversight bodies, and all concerned citizens to speak out and push for justice and the rule of law.

"We urge all stakeholders, including human rights organizations, independent oversight bodies, and concerned citizens, to take urgent note of these incidents and join in the call for justice, accountability, and the rule of law," said the statement.

"Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done."
