Fredrick Odhiambo, appeared before the Makadara Law Courts following the approval of charges by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A man was on Monday arraigned for allegedly causing damage to property owned by a local businesswoman, with the destruction valued at approximately Sh1 million.

Fredrick Odhiambo, also known by the nickname Agunyo, appeared before the Makadara Law Courts following the approval of charges by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in connection to an incident that occurred earlier this year.

Prosecutors allege that Odhiambo, who has been claiming to lead a now-defunct self-help group, was apprehended soon after he reportedly led the vandalism of property belonging to an elderly woman living in Obama Estate, located along Kangundo Road.

"This new charge comes while the accused is already out on bond for a similar offense," the prosecution told the court.

Ongoing investigations have linked Odhiambo to the leadership of a criminal gang that has reportedly terrorized property owners in the area.

The group is alleged to have illegally taken over land from legitimate owners and sold it to unsuspecting buyers—an issue that has sparked fear and concern among residents over land security.

The case will be mentioned again on July 23, 2025.
