Alex Mutua charged with murder of British national, Campbell Scott

Mutua is accused of committing the offence on February 16, 2025, in Pipeline, Nairobi, together with others who are still at large.
Alex Mutua, one of the suspects linked to the death of British national Campbell Scott, was on Tuesday charged with murder and pleaded not guilty before Justice James Wakiaga.
Mutua is accused of committing the offence on February 16, 2025, in Pipeline, Nairobi, together with others who are still at large.
The court heard that the suspects lured Scott, who was in the country for business, into a meeting that turned deadly.
Scott was reported missing a day later, on February 17.
His decomposing body was later found in Makongo Forest, Makueni.
The prosecution told the court they had filed an affidavit opposing bail and were directed to submit the formal documents within three days.
The judge also ordered that a pre-bail report be prepared within 21 days.
Mutua is expected back in court on June 17 for a pre-trial session and a hearing on the bail application.
Investigators believe the suspects tricked Scott into a business meeting before he disappeared and was later killed.
Another suspect, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, is reported to have taken poison and stabbed himself to death while hiding in Dandora.
Two other suspects, Alphonse Munyao Kilewa, known as Edu, and Bernard Mbunga Mbusu, are still on the run.
Mutua and Albunus Mutinda Nzioki are in custody and are assisting detectives with ongoing investigations.
