The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that Ikanga Ward MCA, Cyrus Musyoka Kisavi, was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon after CCTV footage linked him to the February 8, 2025, incident.

The stolen goods, which were being transported to a client in Mombasa, were reported missing by Buscar Courier Services, a company based along River Road in Nairobi.

In a statement, the DCI confirmed that CCTV footage captured the MCA leaving the premises with the parcel in question.

"The arrest followed a positive identification after CCTV footage of the scene was analyzed, which captured the suspect leaving with the parcel destined for a client in Mombasa," the statement read.

Musyoka, who reportedly did not reveal that he was an elected representative, was later recognized by Buscar’s security personnel during a visit to the courier’s River Road office in Nairobi.

He was detained on the spot and handed over to officers at Central Police Station.
