Two people were injured in the explosion and taken to hospital.
The Nakuru Nairobi Highway was temporarily closed due to the intensity of the fire, causing heavy traffic disruption and rendering the road impassable for several hours.
Local authorities, including the Nakuru County Government are yet to issue a statement over the incident.
