Billionaire Ackman calls on Trump to launch ground offensive against Iran
In Summary

Ackman, who has historically supported Democratic candidates but emerged as a prominent Trump backer in the 2024 presidential race, has taken a firm stance in favor of Israel's military actions in the ongoing Gaza conflict.

Jewish billionaire and philanthropist Bill Ackman has publicly declared his backing for Israel, urging U.S. President Donald Trump to provide Iran with the necessary military resources to “finish the job” during this critical period.

Ackman, who has historically supported Democratic candidates but emerged as a prominent Trump backer in the 2024 presidential race, has taken a firm stance in favor of Israel's military actions in the ongoing Gaza conflict.

He believes that reinforced American support could be the key to ending the war.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Ackman wrote: “The parade was great. Our military is incredible. And now Israel needs our help to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat to the world.”

Ackman’s statement comes at a pivotal moment, as tensions between Israel and Iran reach a boiling point.

On June 13, 2025, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a major offensive aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The strike reportedly led to the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Hossein Salami, and significantly weakened Iran’s defense systems.

According to Ackman, the success of the operation has created what he describes as a “lowest-risk, highest-probability moment” for further action, urging the U.S. to seize the opportunity and back Israel decisively.

“We shouldn’t let this moment slip away Israel lacks the necessary equipment and firepower to finish the mission. We have it, and we don’t need to put boots on the ground,” Bill Ackman asserted.

Despite Ackman's call for U.S. involvement, President Donald Trump has maintained a more cautious stance, urging Iran to return to nuclear negotiations while distancing the U.S. from any direct role in Israel’s recent strikes. He emphasized diplomacy as the preferred path forward.

On June 13, 2025, Ackman shared Iranian documents that accuse the United States of backing the Israeli offensive, branding the U.S. as the “Great Satan” and Israel as the “Little Satan.”

Ackman praised Israel’s effectiveness in dismantling Iran’s air defense systems and eliminating key military figures, predicting continued military gains.

He further argued that if Israel is unable to completely eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities, the U.S. should intervene with “a handful of MOABs” to bring the mission to a decisive end.

“This isn’t just Israel’s fight it’s a battle for all of us,” Ackman stated. “Let’s help them finish the job.”

According to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the United States provides Israel with roughly $3.8 billion in annual military aid, significantly strengthening Israel’s defense and strike capabilities.

This substantial support lessens the argument for deploying U.S. troops, aligning with Bill Ackman’s push for enhanced assistance without direct ground involvement.

Iran, meanwhile, continues to portray the U.S. as the driving force behind Israel’s military actions.

This narrative persists despite U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks on June 13, 2025, emphasizing that the recent Israeli strikes were carried out independently and without American involvement.

Amid the heightened tensions, there are mixed signals from Tehran. While anti-U.S. rhetoric remains strong, with the regime accusing Washington of orchestrating attacks through Israel, some officials have signaled a tentative willingness to negotiate.

In a speech on June 14, 2025, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei indicated that talks could be possible if the U.S. lifts sanctions and distances itself from Israeli military actions.

However, he dismissed current American diplomatic efforts as lacking sincerity.

As the crisis unfolds, Iran’s leadership appears to be walking a tightrope projecting defiance while leaving a narrow window open for diplomacy, even as public opinion in the country remains firmly hostile.
