NTSA rolls out e-agent accounts to streamline Government payments

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) said on Wednesday that the eCitizen platform has been upgraded to support bulk payments using e-Agent accounts.
All government agencies have been directed to set up e-Agent accounts on the eCitizen platform to improve how they make bulk payments for services.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) said on Wednesday that the eCitizen platform has been upgraded to support bulk payments using e-Agent accounts.
This system is meant for both national and county government institutions.
“The eCitizen platform has been enabled to support the processing of bulk payments for various services through an e-Agent account,” NTSA said in a statement.
To create an e-Agent account, each agency must write an official letter to the NTSA director-general.
The letter should include the national ID number, mobile phone number, and official email of the person being appointed as the agent. It must also include the agency’s official contact details.
NTSA explained that the appointed agent could be the officer in charge of transport management or the one who has access to the NTSA service portal for that agency.
The request must be sent with a coloured passport photo of the agent. Both the letter and the photo should be submitted in soft copy to [email protected].
“Upon creation of the e-Agent account, the agency/entity/institution and the agent will be notified through the email addresses indicated on the request letter,” NTSA said.
“Relevant information on the use of the e-Agent account shall be sent to the Entity and Agent through [email protected].”
NTSA said it has set up help desks at its headquarters, regional offices, and all Huduma Centres to support agencies during the account registration and activation.
“We look forward to giving all entities necessary support as they endeavour to implement the directive by the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service before Friday, 29th August 2025 deadline,” the Authority said.
NTSA confirmed that the service is free and the account will be created within one working day.
