Two FBI movement members in court over terror allegations

Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, a founding member of the movement, was arrested during a well-coordinated operation along Lang’ata Road.
Two members of the Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) movement are in custody as detectives investigate possible connections to terrorism-related offences.
The arrests were made in separate operations, with both suspects set to appear before the Kahawa Law Courts today, July 31, 2025.
Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, a founding member of the movement, was arrested during a well-coordinated operation along Lang’ata Road.
He is facing charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012, and for being in possession of a firearm, among other offences. Osoi is currently being held at Muthaiga Police Station pending the court’s ruling on a custodial application.
In a related development, Jackson Kuria Kihara, also known as Cop Shakur, was arrested in Kahawa West in connection with similar charges.
At the time of his arrest, he was found wearing a red beret bearing the FBI movement’s symbol. Kihara is also expected to be arraigned today at the Kahawa Law Courts.
Detectives have not released full details of the investigation, but both arrests are believed to be part of a broader probe into the group’s activities.
The FBI movement has recently drawn attention from security agencies, and authorities are looking into whether any of its members have links to outlawed groups or extremist activity.
