Body of officer slain in Haiti arrives in Kenya
The body of police officer Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai, who was killed while serving in the United Nations-backed Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission in Haiti has arrived in Kenya.

Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service Gilbert Masengeli received the body at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Monday, March 10.
This follows a visit by the Inspector General of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, on March 2, 2025, during which he condoled with the officer's family and friends at Naserian Village, Kajiado East Sub-County, Kajiado County, as they mourned his passing.
The body was later transferred to Chiromo Mortuary for preservation, with burial arrangements set for a later date.
Kaetuai was killed on February 23 in a clash with a gang in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. He was among a team that was pursuing a gang when he was shot in the head and died.
The Multinational Security Support Mission said he succumbed to injuries sustained during an operation.
He was among at least 800 Kenyan police officers deployed under the MSS mission to Haiti to help tackle gangs.
Haiti has been grappling with escalating gang violence, with the United Nations reporting that at least 5,601 people were killed in gang-related incidents last year.
