Kenyans will be able to enjoy the national team Harambee Stars' FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Gambia free of charge.

Kenya's national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation KBC has acquired rights to air the match that will be played at the 60,000 seater Alassane Ouattara Ebimpé Olympic Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The match is being played in the Ivory Coast because Gambia does not have a CAF-certified stadium to host the World Cup qualifier.

Stars will face Gabon in their next qualifying match on Sunday.

The match will kick off at 10PM local time and fans who spoke to Generation Sport are hoping the national team will make the country proud.

"I'm hoping for a win for Harambee Stars. One day I wish to watch our boys at the World Cup and I hope this time will be it," Mercy Githambo, a trader in Athi River town said.

As for Alfed Mutembei, also from Athi River, the government must do much more to support the team if they are to make it to the World Cup.

"I feel that the talent is there. However, I do not think our government supports our football the way others do. What I see happening in West Africa as compared to here is a lot different. The government should put in more investment. I wish the boys the best in these tough matches," he stated.

The Harambee Stars already arrived in Ivory Coast Tuesday afternoon and are acclimatizing to local conditions.

Group leaders Ivory Coast leading the way with 10 points in Group F.

Gabon and Burundi sit second and third with nine and seven points respectively, while Kenya sits just above The Gambia in fourth place with five points.
