Youth Clash With Police in Nairobi Over Suspected Extra-judicial Killing

Tensions erupted as youth clashed with police in Majengo, Pumwani, and Gikomba following the fatal shooting of one of their own allegedly by a police officer.
According to reports ,the protests erupted following the alleged fatal shooting of a young boy by a police officer on Tuesday night.
Since the alleged murder took place last night, enraged residents have taken to the streets, demanding accountability from those responsible.
The riots come at a time Kenya is already grappling with the effects of suspected extrajudicial killings in the region.
In a statement on Tuesday 4 March, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) raised similar concerns over reports of police torture, abductions, and even murder in the ongoing Ondoa Jangili mission in Isiolo and Marsabit counties.
The commission specifically raised concern over what it says are human rights violatins in the ongoing security operation by the National Police Service dubbed 'Operation Ondoa Jangili' which started on 3rd February, 2025 in Isiolo and Marsabit Counties.
