Tusker FC needed a goal from second-half substitute Deogratius Ojok to beat a spirited Bidco United 1-0 in a Kenya Premier League match played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Ojok's header went in off a Sharks defender to make it 1-0 following a sweeping Eric Balecho cross to give the Brewers the much-needed points that saw them top of the KPL standings.

Tusker now have 47 points, two more than second place Kenya Police who take on Posta Rangers on Sunday.

Nairobi City Stars drew 0-0 with Kariobangi Sharks in their Kenya Premier League clash played at the Machakos Stadium on Saturday. With 23 points, they have the same return as Bidco but with an inferior goal difference.

In Mombasa, Bandari saw off Ulinzi Stars 2-1 at the Mbaraki Sports Club to climb up to sixth place on the KPL log on Saturday afternoon. Beja Majawi scored both goals in the first half for the home side.

They now have the same points as AFC Leopards who take on Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji Derby Sunday.

There will be five other KPL fixtures on Sunday.
