The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a warning to the public regarding a fraudulent recruitment poster circulating on social media, which falsely claims that police constables are being recruited in multiple counties.

The NPS urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and avoid being misled by such deceptive information.

In a statement shared on its official X account, the National Police Service flagged the fake poster.

It called on Kenyans to attend recruitment exercises in various regions nationwide, including Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Garissa, Taita Taveta, Wajir, and Mandera.

The misleading poster claimed that Kenyan citizens with valid ID cards were required to submit their official documents as part of the application process for the advertised positions.

''Pursuant to Article 240(3) and (4) as read with Articles 10; 27(8) and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya; Sections 10, 11 and 12 of the National Police Service Commission Act and section 7 (3) of the National Police Service Commission (Recruitment and Appointment) Regulations 2015, I the IG in exercise of powers delegated to me by the NPS Commission, seek to recruit 5,000 suitably qualified applicants to be trained as Police Constables,'' read part of the post flagged as fake by the NPS.

The falsified poster had also cautioned applicants against submitting forged or tampered documents.
