Governor Wanga affirms ODM’s support for inclusive government

Wanga emphasized that ODM remains part of the broad-based government coalition, even though there are differing views within the party leadership.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairperson and Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga has reiterated the party’s commitment to backing President William Ruto’s government and its development agenda, despite dissent from some ODM members.
Speaking in Ndhiwa constituency, Wanga emphasized that ODM remains part of the broad-based government coalition, even though there are differing views within the party leadership.
She highlighted that ODM, led by Raila Odinga, entered into the coalition with the Kenya Kwanza administration based on a shared ten-point plan aimed at revitalizing the economy and promoting national unity.
Wanga, the Governor of Homa Bay County, stated that the broad-based government has delivered significant development progress, particularly in the Luo Nyanza region.
She explained that their party leader, Raila Odinga, directed them to back President Ruto and his development initiatives following the coalition agreement, with support set to continue until Odinga gives further instructions.
Wanga also assured residents that Homa Bay is prepared to host the 2025 Madaraka Day celebrations at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay Town.
