I'll work with courageous leaders to transform Kenya – Ruto

Speaking during the handover of the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project on Tuesday, President Ruto said he will lead the transformation from the front.
President William Ruto has pledged to work with courageous leaders who believe in the transformation of Kenya, not those driven by convenience or tribal interests.
Speaking during the handover of the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project on Tuesday, he said he will lead the transformation from the front and distance himself from politicians focused on retrogressive politics.
"I will continue to lead from the front as we transform this nation. I will work with courageous leaders who believe in the transformation of Kenya, not mere politicians who believe in convenience, who believe in nothing, retrogressive politics." Ruto said.
"We don’t share ambition with the tribalists, we don’t share ambitions with the haters, and we don’t share ambition with people who believe in the disunity of our nation."
The President emphasized his commitment to building a broad-based government that unites all Kenyans.
He praised former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for agreeing to work with him toward national unity despite being his main rival in the 2022 elections.
Ruto reaffirmed his dedication to the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda, acknowledging that the process would be difficult but necessary for Kenya’s progress.
"When we said bottom-up transformation, we meant it. We knew it was not going to be easy, but we have made the choices and the results are there for everyone to see. This is going to be how we transform our nation and I am very proud to be part of the leadership that is making decisions, seeing the transformation of our nation," he said.
He urged Kenyans to believe in their country and its future.
"I want to encourage us to believe in our country because if we don’t, we will let down our country," Ruto stated.
The President expressed confidence that nothing will stop the ongoing transformation.
"Nothing, by the grace of God, is going to stop us from achieving the transformation of Kenya," he added.
