Ruto hails DP Kindiki for loyalty, calm temperament

President William Ruto has expressed satisfaction with his working relationship with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, describing him as dependable and aligned with the government’s development agenda.
While launching the Human-Wildlife Conflict Compensation Fund at Meru National Park, Ruto praised Kindiki’s calm demeanor and national outlook, subtly contrasting him with former deputy Rigathi Gachagua, with whom he had a public falling out after the 2022 elections.
"Professor understands that his role goes beyond Meru he represents all Kenyans," Ruto remarked, in what appeared to be a veiled jab at Gachagua.
Ruto went on to commend Kindiki as an ideal deputy, level-headed, diligent, and fully in tune with the responsibilities of government leadership.
President William Ruto has praised his DP for being a composed and competent leader who fully supports the government’s development priorities across sectors like infrastructure, education, and agriculture.
"I’m proud to have a deputy who understands government operations and works closely with Cabinet ministers and myself to drive Kenya’s progress," Ruto said during the launch of the Human-Wildlife Conflict Compensation Fund at Meru National Park.
His remarks come months after the ouster of former deputy Rigathi Gachagua, whose tenure Ruto now characterizes as marked by internal conflicts, emotional outbursts, and lack of support for the administration’s agenda.
