Eid al-Adha: CS Duale calls on Kenyans to reject retrogressive political leaders

After joining fellow Muslims for Eid al-Adha prayers at Masjid Al-Abrar Mosque in Garissa, Duale highlighted that there is no place in Kenya for such divisive leadership.
Health CS Aden Duale on Friday emphasized the importance of national unity and warned against leaders who seek to divide Kenyans through tribalism, hatred, and violence.
After joining fellow Muslims for Eid al-Adha prayers at Masjid Al-Abrar Mosque in Garissa, Duale highlighted that there is no place in Kenya for such divisive leadership.
"As Muslims, we deeply value this day as one of unity. Taking this moment, I urge all Kenyans to come together, echoing the call made by His Excellency the President, to see ourselves primarily as Kenyans rather than being divided by tribe, religion, or region," Duale stated.
"We reject retrogressive political leaders who seek to fracture the nation along tribal lines. We envision one Kenya where Muslims, Christians, and people of all faiths enjoy equal treatment, and where development is shared fairly across all regions."
Duale also criticized certain opposition figures, accusing them of trying to sow division.
"They spend their time creating tribal-based political parties around the clock. We know who they are, and that is not the Kenya we aspire to," said the CS.
Duale emphasized that true leadership means serving all citizens equally, not favoring any single ethnic group.
He pointed out that leaders who promote tribalism are obstructing national progress and deepening inequality.
He also took the opportunity to urge residents who have not yet registered with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to do so without delay.
Expressing concern that the county ranks low in registration numbers, Duale announced plans to lead the ministry alongside county officials in a widespread recruitment campaign across the entire region.
He assured that the registration process is simple and accessible.
Highlighting the scheme’s growing acceptance, he revealed that 71,000 Kenyans registered just on Thursday alone, demonstrating strong public support.
"So far, 23 million Kenyans have registered. However, in Garissa, the figures remain low, just around 45,000 people. We urge residents, especially in pastoral counties where enrollment is still lagging, to take the necessary steps to register. This scheme offers numerous benefits and will be invaluable when you need it most," he said.
