Waiguru calls for unity among leaders, signals 2027 political ambitions

Waiguru warned that she will not tolerate being undermined by other politicians aiming to advance their own agendas, cautioning that her quietness should not be mistaken for weakness.
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has emphasized the importance of mutual respect among elected officials to prevent avoidable disputes.
Waiguru warned that she will not tolerate being undermined by other politicians aiming to advance their own agendas, cautioning that her quietness should not be mistaken for weakness.
She revealed that she is still in the planning stages and, alongside other leaders with shared visions, is engaged in consultations to shape a political roadmap for the benefit of the region’s people.
"I urge the people of Kirinyaga to remain calm. Our county must have a seat at the national resource allocation table. We cannot achieve the development we desire without being part of the decision-making process," she stated.
She urged leaders to prioritize fulfilling their promises to the people instead of wasting time on pointless conflicts with one another.
"Stop spreading falsehoods to the public. Our people are well-informed and cannot be easily fooled or blindly persuaded to vote. In the last election, many who canvassed for votes were surprised by the outcome, some even ended up hospitalized," she remarked.
Waiguru emphasized that she will not allow herself to be distracted by politics at the expense of delivering services to the community.
She encouraged voters to carefully evaluate the track records of those seeking support for the 2027 elections.
She also warned that anyone who believes she will be sidelined in the 2027 political landscape and thinks they can reach voters through backdoor tactics is in for a rude awakening.
"We remain committed to serving the people, and my development record is clear for all to see. Some may believe they can push me aside now that my term as governor is ending, but I want to remind them that Kirinyaga has its own leaders, and we will continue to play a key role," the Governor stated.
