CS Duale defended the Kenya Kwanza administration's track record, stating that progress is being made in areas such as infrastructure, education, and security despite economic challenges.

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has called on Kenyans to acknowledge the government’s development milestones and urged the opposition to offer constructive alternatives rather than constant criticism, amid heightened political tension across the country.

Speaking during a wedding ceremony in Nairobi on Saturday, attended by several political leaders, CS Duale defended the Kenya Kwanza administration's track record, stating that progress is being made in areas such as infrastructure, education, and security despite economic challenges.

"The government is working tirelessly to improve the lives of Kenyans. It’s only fair that these efforts are recognized,” Duale said. “We welcome criticism, but let it be accompanied by solutions.”

Duale’s remarks come at a time when the country is grappling with a cost-of-living crisis, nationwide protests against controversial government policies, and increasing discontent among youth and civil society groups.

The opposition, led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagya and other emerging movements like Gen Z youth-led movements, has intensified pressure on the government over alleged mismanagement, corruption, and lack of public participation in key policy decisions.

The Gen Z youth-led movements—especially from those born between the late 1990s and early 2010s—has used digital tools to push for economic justice, accountability, and democratic change

CS Duale urged the opposition to focus on issue-based politics as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.

The wedding ceremony was attended by key leaders including Wajir South MP Mohammed Adow, Kamukunji MP Yussuf Hassan, and former Cabinet Minister Mohammed Maalim, who all echoed the need for national unity and constructive dialogue.

The leaders emphasized the importance of peace and collaboration between communities, particularly in historically marginalized northern Kenya, where security, development, and representation remain sensitive issues.
