Ruto leads leaders in mourning Beatrice Elachi’s son

Leaders from across the political divide have sent messages of condolence to Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi following the death of her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya.

President William Ruto led them in mourning, offering words of comfort to the grieving family.

"Be comforted by the word of the Lord in Psalm 147: 3," he said. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), under which Elachi was elected, also expressed its condolences.

"May God grant Beatrice Elachi and family the fortitude and strength to overcome the pain of losing her son Elvis Murakana Namenya. It is such a huge loss to Mheshimiwa. As a party, we stand with her during this difficult moment of mourning and grief," ODM stated.

Shinyalu MP Fredrick Ikana Lusuli joined in mourning Namenya, expressing his sorrow over the loss.

"On behalf of my family and the great people of Shinyalu, I send my sincere condolences to my big sister and colleague, Hon Beatrice Elachi, and her family for the sad loss of their dear son Elvis. May God give you strength to endure," he said.

Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo also sent her sympathies, stating, "On behalf of my family and the people of Busia county, I extend my deepest condolences. Pole sana."

Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang said he was heartbroken by the news.

"My deepest condolences to her and her family during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace," he said.

Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai shared his message of support, acknowledging the immense pain of losing a child.

"As the MCA for Kileleshwa Ward, I join the people of Dagoretti North and beyond in mourning this profound loss," he said.

"Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength and solace in the love and support that surrounds you."

The cause of Namenya’s death has not yet been made public.
