The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mohammed Amin, has called for unwavering integrity in policing, stressing that ethical conduct is essential to sustaining public trust and the Directorate’s credibility.
Speaking at the close of the Senior Investigations Officers Seminar held at the National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA) in Nairobi on September 16, 2025, he emphasized that ethical conduct is not just a personal choice but a professional obligation central to the Directorate’s mission and vision.
He said integrity anchors the credibility of the DCI and strengthens public trust in law enforcement.
“The gathering has not only showcased the depth of expertise within our ranks but also reaffirmed our collective commitment to enhancing the integrity and effectiveness of criminal investigations,” Amin remarked.
The DCI chief explained three key pillars in advancing the agency’s mandate: collaboration, modernization, and the humanization of police work. He called on officers to embrace the lessons learned from the seminar and to apply them in their daily operations to improve service delivery.
He also commended the NCIA for its consistent role in nurturing professionalism, ethical standards, and strategic acumen across investigative units further applauding the active engagement and dedication demonstrated by the participants throughout the seminar, urging them to share the knowledge gained to their colleagues.
The event drew senior officials from the DCI, including Director of Operations, Samson Kiptum, Deputy Director Investigations Bureau, George Kisaka, and NCIA Commandant, Sospeter Munyi, and embraced by the international guests, among them Pietro Tilli from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Nairobi.
The seminar is part of the DCI’s continuous efforts to strengthen its operational capacity and reinforce the principles of accountability and professionalism in policing.
