Research firm Infotrak says the high cost of living at 40% and unemployment at 36% remain the biggest concerns for most Kenyans, according to its latest survey.

The poll also highlighted access to quality and affordable education (31%), the Social Health Authority/SHIF (27%), and corruption (25%) as other major issues.

Other concerns cited include over-taxation, transport and infrastructure, access to affordable healthcare, extra-judicial killings, insecurity, youth empowerment, and the cost of doing business.

Kenyans also raised issues around poverty reduction, access to clean water, high farm input costs, women empowerment, equitable resource distribution, student protests, public participation, drug abuse, alcoholism, ethnicity, environmental conservation, and disaster management.

The survey was conducted between August 13 and August 14, 2025, using quantitative interviews through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI).

A total of 2,400 respondents aged 18 and above were interviewed, representing all 47 counties and eight regions.

The sampling frame was designed using population proportionate to size guided by the 2019 Census.

The poll has a margin of error of +/-2%. Data was processed and analyzed using SPSS 27 statistical software.
