Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda has reached a major milestone following her election to the Board of Governance of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

In a communication to the Senate on Wednesday afternoon, Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi congratulated the Senator on her appointment and urged fellow senators to fully support her as she takes on the new international leadership role.

The Senator took to her socials to react to the appointment.

"With my experience, background on matters relating to finance, I am ready to serve in my new position, diligently, effectively and efficiently while executing my mandate," said Mutinda.

"I am also taking this opportunity to thank my fellow Senators for their motivational, positive compliments and congratulatory messages towards my appointment."

The board of governance is charged with the responsibility of setting the strategic agenda and providing guidance for the activities of the Parliamentary network.

Mutinda will represent the East Africa Region on the Board for the 2025–2027 term.

The Parliamentary Network is an independent, non-governmental organization that provides a global platform for legislators to engage with the World Bank Group and the IMF on issues of transparency, accountability, and development effectiveness.

It promotes dialogue between parliamentarians, civil society, and international financial institutions to advance sound governance, poverty reduction, and inclusive economic growth.

Mutinda will officially assume her position on October 13, 2025, during the Parliamentary engagements at the 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF.

Her Senate colleagues, including Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Enoch Wambua (Kitui), Agnes Kavindu (Machakos), and Joe Nyutu (Murang’a) — congratulated her on the achievement, praising her dedication to public service and leadership.

They expressed confidence in her ability to represent Kenya and the East African region with distinction, pledging their full support as she embarks on this important global role.
