Kenya’s Ambassador to Slovenia, Maurice Makoloo, has concluded his tour of duty. Makoloo marked the end by paying a farewell courtesy call on President Nataša Pirc Musar as he nears the conclusion of his diplomatic tour of duty.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Ljubljana, where both sides reaffirmed the growing partnership between Kenya and Slovenia.
In his remarks, Makoloo expressed gratitude for the warm and cordial relations between the two nations, noting that bilateral ties have continued to grow from strength to strength.
He described it as a privilege to serve as Kenya’s first Ambassador to Slovenia and to help lay the foundation for lasting friendship and cooperation.
The meeting also reflected on President Musar’s State Visit to Kenya earlier this year, which the ambassador said opened new avenues for collaboration.
He commended the Slovenian leader for her courage and leadership, as well as her country’s commitment to advancing multilateral reforms that amplify the voices of developing nations, women, and youth.
President Musar, on her part, spoke warmly of her visit to Kenya, noting that the energy and dynamism of the people of Africa are exactly what the world needs today.
The ambassador was accompanied by Eunice Mwaura and Jimmy Titus Ng’ota from the Kenya Embassy in Vienna, which is accredited to Slovenia.
Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, he served as the Vice President for the Africa Area Office- Habitat for Humanity International.
He joined Habitat on 1st February 2021 with over 20 years’ experience as a strategic global nonprofit executive leader who had developed and led successful organizations in Africa.
As Africa Area Vice President, Makoloo led the development and execution of a regional strategy to support the Habitat’s Global Impact 2025(GI-25) goal of tripling Habitat’s impact.
