Defending champions Pyramids FC begin the defence of their crown with a trip to the Rwandese capital Kigali to take on military side APR in their preliminary round qualifier this afternoon at the Stade Regional in Nyamirambo.

The Egyptian outfit, won the Champions League last term at the first time of asking, seeing off South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 on aggregate to claim their first ever crown.

Now, they will seek to defend their title and travel to the eastern African nation to take on the military side in a clash that will test them to the limits, being that APR are an accomplished side on their own merit.

Kick off is at 3 PM Kenyan time.

The two sides have met before in CAF competition, with Pyramids coming out on top with two wins and two draws.
